Curran McCready, a 2011 graduate of the Penn State Smeal College of Business with a degree in finance, has been appointed to the college’s Finance Advisory Board.
The board, composed of alumni from the finance and investment industries, provides strategic guidance to the Department of Finance, facilitates internships, mentors students, and fosters collaboration between faculty and industry. Members meet twice annually, alternating between University Park and New York City, and contribute financially to support innovative programs and initiatives that benefit students and faculty.
McCready began his career in General Electric’s financial leadership programs, focusing on financial planning, treasury, and strategy across locations in the United States and London. He went on to hold roles at PayPal and the London Stock Exchange Group before joining NBCUniversal in 2022 as the chief financial officer for enterprise engineering, cyber, and technical operations. In this role, he oversees strategic planning and enterprise-wide vendor partnerships, while also supporting NBCUniversal’s AI initiatives.
McCready’s appointment underscores Smeal’s commitment to leveraging alumni expertise to enhance its academic and professional programs, ensuring students are prepared for successful careers in the finance industry.
